If you have not yet signed your child up for summer camp, maybe because you haven't been able to find the just-right-fit for your budding artist child, look no further than Southern Art Society in Uptown, New Orleans.

Southern Art Society's goal is to immerse campers in the richness of various visual art mediums, including drawing, painting, digital art, and related mediums. Campers will explore fun, traditional, and innovative forms of visual art. Southern Art Society Camp fosters self-expression and independent learning and seeks to instill techniques that campers will never forget. Campers interested in fine art instruction will build on their creative foundation as they develop into their teen years and beyond!

Nicholas Provosty, son of Macaroni KID New Orleans' publisher Nicole Provosty, attended the after school program offered at Southern Art Society in 8th and 9th grade. As a 23 year old now, here is what he has to say: "My time at Southern Art Society was a great experience in finding my own artistic tastes, as students are heavily encouraged to pursue their own interests and voices as artists. It was also a great way to meet other visual art inclined kids in New Orleans and expand my social scene after school. It's clear Southern Art Society really values and seeks to nurture the individual artist within each student. Even as a 23 year old, I look back to pieces I took on as a 15 year old student as key artistic growth experiences in getting out of my comfort zone, and I'll always thank Southern Art Society for that."
